A reflector telescope gathers light with a concave primary mirror instead of a lens; the Newtonian design sends it to an eyepiece or camera at the side of the tube, giving the most aperture for the money with no colour fringing. Kits such as the Celestron StarSense Explorer DX 130AZ and the Explore Scientific Sidara range come on alt-azimuth mounts for visual observing, while fast f/4 imaging Newtonians like the Sky-Watcher Quattro and the Starfield Imaging Newtonians are built for astrophotography and need a coma corrector and an equatorial mount. A Newtonian's mirrors need occasional alignment, so keep one of our collimation tools on hand.
