Astronomy binoculars are wide-aperture binoculars for viewing the night sky with both eyes, showing star fields, clusters, the Moon and bright comets across a wider field than most telescopes. Aperture and magnification decide how they are used: 7x50 and 10x50 models such as the Celestron Cometron 7x50 and Pentax SP 10x50 WP are comfortable handheld, while 15x70 and larger pairs, including the Celestron SkyMaster 20x80 and 25x100 and the Kowa High Lander Prominar 32x82, are best on a tripod or binocular mount, and only the dedicated Celestron EclipSmart solar binoculars should ever be pointed at the Sun.
