An LRGB set — luminance, red, green and blue — lets a monochrome camera build a full-colour image one channel at a time, with the luminance filter recording fine detail and the red, green and blue filters adding colour; it is the standard method for galaxies, star clusters and reflection nebulae. Match the filter size to your sensor and filter wheel: 1.25" for smaller sensors, 36mm unmounted for APS-C-class sensors and 2" for full-frame, with sets here including Baader's CMOS-optimized L-RGB, Antlia's LRGB-V Pro and Optolong's LRGB Deep Sky Imaging filters. Single colour filters and planetary sets, such as Baader's 610nm red and six-colour Moon and planetary set, improve lunar and planetary contrast; for emission nebulae, pair an LRGB set with narrowband filters.
