If you have a telescope, mount or camera sitting in a closet, we will sell it for you. You keep ownership until it sells. We handle the listing, the photography, the buyer questions and the shipping — and your gear goes in front of people who already know what it is and what it is worth.
How it works

Tell us what you have
Use the form at the bottom of this page. Describe the item, its condition, what is included, and anything a buyer should know. Photos help.

We agree on a price
We will tell you honestly what it is likely to fetch and what the commission will be. If the numbers do not work for you, no hard feelings.

Send it or drop it off
Once approved, ship the gear to us or arrange a drop-off. We check it against your description and photograph it as it actually is.

We list, sell and pay you
Your item goes on our website and sales channels. When it sells we handle the buyer and the shipping, then pay you 14 days later.

- Telescopes — refractors, Newtonians, SCTs, Dobsonians and astrographs
- Equatorial, alt-az and harmonic mounts, tripods and piers
- Astronomy cameras, guiders and imaging controllers
- Eyepieces, diagonals, Barlows and focal reducers
- Filters, filter wheels and focusers
- Good-quality accessories that go with the above
What we may decline
- Items that are damaged or incomplete
- Anything that does not meet our quality standards
- Gear you cannot confirm you legally own
- Items where we cannot agree on a realistic price

The terms, plainly
We take a percentage of the final agreed selling price. The rate is discussed and settled with you before the item is listed.
Payouts are made 14 days after the sale, which allows for the buyer's evaluation period below.
The asking price is agreed between us in writing before listing. We do not change it without talking to you.
Buyers of used items have 7 calendar days from delivery to report a proven functional defect. If one is confirmed, the sale may be cancelled and the item returned. This protects both sides against a misdescribed item.
Other than that 7-day window, all consignment sales are final. There are no refunds or exchanges on used equipment, and no warranty or repair service is provided on it.
We may decline any item that is damaged, incomplete, or does not meet our quality standards.
Ownership and liability
All consigned items must be legally owned by you and free of any liens or third-party claims. Ownership remains with you at all times until the item sells.
Ontario Telescope and Accessories assumes no liability for the item or its sale. Responsibility for the equipment's condition, ownership and history lies with the consignor. Any dispute or claim will be referred back to the original owner.
While we take reasonable care, we are not liable for loss or damage caused by fire, theft, flooding, natural disasters, accidental breakage or other unforeseen events.
By consigning with us you accept these terms and agree to hold Ontario Telescope and Accessories harmless in all such matters.
