Product Overview

The Extender-C2X extends focal length on the FS-60CB, FC-76D and FC-100D. Takahashi's own naming — the "C2X" designation — follows the same convention as its other 2x extenders, and the part is built to lengthen the focal length of these doublets without adding measurable aberration of its own.

Who It's For

This is what you need if you own an FS-60CB, FC-76D or FC-100D and want to reach a longer effective focal length for tighter framing — small planetary nebulae, galaxies, or lunar and planetary detail — without changing telescopes.

Optical / Mechanical Design

An extender lengthens the light path between the objective and the focal plane, which increases effective focal length and focal ratio without touching the objective itself. Takahashi builds its extenders to add that length while holding the telescope's own correction, rather than introducing new aberration the objective wasn't designed for — the same principle behind the Ortho Extender 2x Barlow used elsewhere in the line.

Recommended Uses

  • Tighter framing on small targets — planetary nebulae, small galaxies, lunar and planetary detail — on the FS-60CB, FC-76D or FC-100D.
  • Extending an existing FC or FS doublet rather than buying a longer-focal-length telescope.

Compatibility and Accessory Notes

The Extender-C2X is matched to the FS-60CB, FC-76D and FC-100D. If you want to confirm it fits your specific imaging train before ordering, send us your telescope and camera and we will work it out with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it difficult to set up?

It fits into the imaging train on the FS-60CB, FC-76D or FC-100D the same way any extender does — in line between the telescope and camera. Send us your setup and we will confirm the exact fit.

What is it best used for?

Reaching a longer effective focal length on a small FC or FS doublet for tighter framing on small targets.

Does it work for visual observing?

It is built for the photographic train on these telescopes; if you want to use it visually, send us your eyepiece setup and we will confirm the fit.

Bottom Line

In short: a focal-length extender for the FS-60CB, FC-76D and FC-100D, built to lengthen the light path without adding aberration of its own.
