Product Overview

The LCLS replaces the round knobs on Losmandy tripod leg clamps with lever-type, indexable handles. Because they are indexable, the levers can be repositioned out of the way rather than left wherever they happen to land. Losmandy notes that the levers are only compatible with the HD folding tripod.

Who It's For

Round knobs need a pinch grip and several turns; a lever needs a hand and a quarter turn. In the cold, in gloves, or with a mount already on the tripod, that is the difference between adjusting leg height easily and not bothering. Indexable means you lift the lever off its splines and drop it back at a different angle, so it never ends up pointing into a leg or fouling the spreader.

Key Features & Design

  • Lever-type handles in place of the standard round knobs.
  • Indexable, so each lever can be repositioned clear of obstructions.
  • Fits Losmandy tripod leg clamps.
  • HD folding tripod only — Losmandy is explicit that the levers are not compatible with other tripods.

Recommended Uses

Adjusting leg height quickly on an HD folding tripod. Cold-weather and gloved operation. Setups where the tripod is levelled on uneven ground each session. Anyone who finds the round knobs awkward with a mount already fitted.

Compatibility and Accessory Notes

Good to Know Before You Order

  • HD folding tripod only. This is Losmandy's own restriction and the one thing to check before ordering — tell us your tripod and we will confirm.
  • Check the quantity you need. A tripod has three leg clamps; the LCLS-FT is the set of 3. Ask us what this listing ships as if you want all three covered.
  • Indexable is worth understanding: the lever lifts and re-seats at a new angle rather than spinning freely, so you set where it rests.
  • Losmandy publishes no weight or dimensions for this part.
  • Specifications are Losmandy's published figures.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it difficult to set up?

No. The round knob comes off the leg clamp and the lever goes on in its place.

Will it fit my tripod?

Only the HD folding tripod, per Losmandy. Send us your tripod model and we will check.

How many do I get?

The LCLS-FT version is a set of 3, one per leg. Ask us about this listing's quantity before ordering if that matters.

What does indexable mean?

The lever can be lifted and re-seated at a different angle, so it rests clear of the leg or the spreader instead of wherever the thread leaves it.

Why bother?

A quarter turn on a lever beats several turns on a knob, particularly in gloves or with the mount already on the tripod.

Bottom Line

In short: indexable lever handles that replace the round knobs on Losmandy HD folding tripod leg clamps — quicker to work, and repositionable so they stay out of the way.
