Product Overview

This tube holder was designed specifically for the Takahashi TOA-130S and TOA-130F refractors. It attaches the optical tube assembly to a Takahashi mount, and the interior is lined to sit against the tube's painted finish. The clamshell opens along its length so the tube goes in and comes out without threading it through a closed ring.

Who It's For

This is a good match if you own a TOA-130S or TOA-130F and want Takahashi's own single-piece holder.

Key Features & Design

  • Designed for the TOA-130S and TOA-130F: not a general-purpose ring adapted to fit.
  • Lined interior: sits between the holder and the telescope's finish.
  • Clam-shell opening: the tube seats in and lifts out directly.
  • Ergonomic fitting: shaped for handling the tube in and out.

Recommended Uses

Mounting a TOA-130S or TOA-130F to a Takahashi equatorial mount for visual observing or deep-sky imaging.

Compatibility and Accessory Notes

Listed for the TOA-130S and TOA-130F. Other TOA-130 variants — the 130N and the NFB, for instance — appear in Takahashi's range with their own holders, including two-ring versions. If your tube is a different TOA-130 variant, send us the model and we will confirm the right holder before you order.

Good to Know Before You Order

Variant-specific: the TOA-130 has been built in several versions, and they do not all take this holder. Worth telling us which one you have — it takes a moment and we will confirm it.

Single-piece holder: this is one clamshell rather than a two-ring and bridge-plate assembly. If you need a bridge plate for a guide scope, we stock the double-ring holders too.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it difficult to set up?

No — the clamshell opens, the tube seats inside on the lining, and it closes around it.

Which telescopes does it fit?

The TOA-130S and TOA-130F.

Does it protect the tube's finish?

The interior is lined for exactly that reason.

Can I mount a guide scope on it?

Not on this holder — it carries the optical tube only. The double-ring holders with bridge plates are the ones that take a guider.

Bottom Line

Takahashi's lined clamshell holder for the TOA-130S and TOA-130F, made for those tubes specifically.
