Product Overview

A 36.5 mm 2″ extension tube for the Takahashi eyepiece turret. On several Takahashi telescopes the turret will not reach focus without it, so this tube is a requirement rather than an option on those models — it adds the back-focus the turret needs to come to focus in the drawtube.

Who It's For

This is a good match if you are running — or about to buy — the Takahashi 4-turret eyepiece holder on one of the telescopes listed below.

Key Features & Design

  • 36.5 mm optical length: the extension the turret needs to reach focus.
  • 2″ format: matches the turret's 2″ nosepiece fitting.
  • Mechanical only: a spacing component with no optical elements — it does not change magnification or field.

Recommended Uses

Visual observing with the Takahashi 4-turret eyepiece holder, where four eyepieces stay mounted and rotate into place.

Compatibility and Accessory Notes

Takahashi lists this extension as required for turret use on the FC-76S, FSQ-85, FSQ-106ED, FSQ-130ED, Mewlon-250CRS and Mewlon-300CRS. If your telescope is not on that list and you are planning a turret, send us the model and we will work out the back-focus with you before you order.

Good to Know Before You Order

Required, not optional, on the listed telescopes: the turret will not reach focus on those models without this tube, so the two are bought together.

The turret is separate: this listing is the extension tube alone. We stock the 4-turret eyepiece holder as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it difficult to set up?

No — it goes between the drawtube and the turret's 2″ nosepiece, and nothing needs adjusting afterwards.

Which telescopes need it?

The FC-76S, FSQ-85, FSQ-106ED, FSQ-130ED, Mewlon-250CRS and Mewlon-300CRS.

Does it change magnification?

No — it has no optical elements. It is spacing only.

Do I need it if I am not using a turret?

No — it exists specifically to give the turret the back-focus it needs.

Bottom Line

The 36.5 mm 2″ extension that lets the Takahashi eyepiece turret reach focus on the FSQ, FC-76S and Mewlon CRS telescopes.
