Product Overview
The SVBONY SV535 is a 105 mm f/2.8 apochromatic astrograph lens: a compact, seven-element optic in five groups with FMC coatings, a helical focuser and a dovetail mounting plate, built for wide-field astrophotography with full-frame support. At f/2.8 it collects light quickly, so large nebulae, dust lanes and Milky Way star fields build up in short sub-exposures.
The rear connection is an M42x0.75 male thread, the front accepts 2″ filters, and SVBONY supplies both Vixen-style and Arca-Swiss plates. SVBONY describes the lens as weighing approximately 482 g.

Who It's For
This is a good match if you:
- Image wide fields: 105 mm frames whole constellations' worth of nebulosity, such as the Cygnus region, the Veil and the North America Nebula.
- Travel or image from dark sites: a lens of about 482 g rides on star trackers and small mounts.
- Shoot nightscapes and Milky Way panoramas: the fast f/2.8 aperture keeps exposures short.
- Use a full-frame or APS-C camera: SVBONY specifies full-frame support.
Key Features & Design
- 105 mm f/2.8 APO optics: 7 elements in 5 groups with FMC coatings.
- Helical focuser: smooth, precise focus without image shift.
- Dual dovetail plates: Vixen-style and Arca-Swiss plates included.
- M42x0.75 male rear thread: with a 24 mm back focal length.
- 2″ filter thread: for light-pollution and narrowband filters.
- Soft case: included for transport.

Optical Design
The SV535 uses seven elements in five groups, an apochromatic design that brings red, green and blue light to a common focus so bright stars stay free of colour halos at f/2.8. Unlike a standard camera lens, it is focused manually with a helical focuser and mounted by a dovetail, so it behaves like a small astrograph in the imaging train: a fixed, repeatable focus point, filters ahead of the optics, and a firm mount under the lens rather than the camera body.

Recommended Uses
- Wide-field deep-sky imaging: large faint nebulae, dust structures and galaxy groups, as SVBONY describes.
- Milky Way and nightscape photography: on a star tracker with a mirrorless or DSLR camera.
- Narrowband imaging: with 2″ filters on the front thread or a filter drawer in the train.
- Mosaics: wide individual panels cover large regions quickly.

Compatibility and Accessory Notes
- Back focal length: 24 mm from the M42 thread. SVBONY notes this is too short for common T-mount camera adapters, which is why it offers dedicated short T&E-mount (Sony E), T&E&Z (Nikon Z) and T&E&RF (Canon RF) options.
- This listing: the T&E-mount configuration. The Z, RF and SV535-to-SV226 M42 configurations are also offered by SVBONY; contact us for those.
- Astronomy cameras: M42 connection; SVBONY offers an SV226 M42 filter-drawer configuration.
- Mounting: Vixen-style and Arca-Swiss plates fit most star trackers and mount saddles.
SVBONY publishes connection diagrams for Sony, Nikon and Canon mirrorless bodies; if your camera is different, send us the model and we will work out the connection with you.

Good to Know Before You Order
- Short back focus: the 24 mm back focal length needs SVBONY's matched short adapters rather than a standard T-ring; the configuration option sets this for your camera.
- Weight figures: SVBONY's feature text gives about 482 g, while its specification table lists an estimated 1500 g.
- Imaging only: the SV535 is an astrograph lens for cameras; it is not set up for eyepiece viewing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it difficult to set up?
No. Attach the matching mount adapter to your camera, thread it to the lens, mount the lens by its plate and focus with the helical focuser on a bright star.
Will it cover a full-frame sensor?
SVBONY specifies full-frame support.
Can I use filters?
Yes. The front accepts 2″ filters, and an M42 filter-drawer configuration is available.
Why can't I use an ordinary T-ring?
The 24 mm back focal length is shorter than a standard T-ring and camera flange combined, so SVBONY's short mount adapters are used instead.
Bottom Line
In short: a 105 mm f/2.8 seven-element APO lens with helical focus, dual dovetail plates and a 2″ filter thread, built for fast wide-field imaging on a tracker or small mount. Pair it with the matched short adapter for your camera and it is ready to image.
