Product Overview

The SVBONY SV226P is a filter drawer designed to bolt directly to the SV238 off-axis guider. One drawer holds either a 1.25″ or a 2″ filter, held by H-type magnets and a side-locking screw that also seals against light leaks. It is machined in one piece from aluminium, is 21 mm thick, has an M42 camera-side thread, and includes an M42-to-M48 adapter. Twelve M2.5 threaded points attach it rigidly to the OAG.

Who It's For

This is a good match if you are building an imaging train around the SVBONY SV238 OAG and want to swap filters quickly without removing the camera, whether you image in broadband or narrowband.

Key Features & Design

  • 1.25″ and 2″ in one drawer: no extra holders needed when you change filter size.
  • Dual retention: H-type magnets plus a side-lock screw that keeps the drawer seated and light-tight.
  • 12 M2.5 mounting points: a rigid connection to the SV238, keeping the guide-camera relationship stable.
  • 21 mm thickness, M42 camera side: with an included M42-to-M48 adapter, and M28.5 support for 1.25″ filters.
  • One-piece CNC aluminium body.

Recommended Uses

  • Narrowband and broadband deep-sky imaging with quick filter changes behind an OAG.
  • Compact OAG imaging trains on refractors and Maksutovs, including the SVBONY MK127 with its reducer.

Compatibility and Accessory Notes

  • Designed for: the SVBONY SV238 off-axis guider.
  • Camera side: native M42 female thread; M42-to-M48 adapter included.
  • Backfocus: 21 mm. In SVBONY's example, a camera with 17.5 mm of flange depth, the SV226P and the SV238 with its M48 adapter total 55 mm.
  • SV226P vs SV226: the SV226P has the mounting holes needed to bolt to the SV238. The plain SV226 M42 drawer cannot attach to the OAG.

Good to Know Before You Order

  • Made for the SV238: its mounting pattern matches that OAG. For a drawer without an OAG, the standard SV226 is the alternative.
  • Filters sold separately.
  • Imaging only: it has no application in a visual train.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it difficult to set up?

No. It bolts to the camera side of the SV238 with the M2.5 screws supplied with the OAG, and the camera threads onto its M42 side.

Can I use 1.25″ and 2″ filters?

Yes. The same drawer accepts either size.

How thick is it?

21 mm, which is the figure to include in your backfocus total.

Bottom Line

In short: a 21 mm, one-piece aluminium filter drawer that bolts to the SVBONY SV238 OAG, takes 1.25″ or 2″ filters, and keeps an OAG imaging train compact and light-tight.
