SVBONY SA404 M48 to M42 adapter

Product Overview

The SVBONY SA404 is an aluminium-alloy adapter that converts an M48×0.75 male telescope thread to an M42 male thread, with a 1.25″ interface for eyepieces. SVBONY designed it for the SV41 Mak spotting scope, whose rear port is an M48 male thread, so the scope can take a Canon, Nikon or Sony camera through a T-ring. It is 31.5 mm tall, 54 mm across, machined to 0.1 mm accuracy, and weighs 70 g.

Who It's For

This is a good match if you own an SVBONY SV41 Mak or another scope with an M48 male rear thread and want to attach an M42 camera train or a 1.25″ eyepiece.

Compatibility and Accessory Notes

  • Telescope side: M48×0.75 female, for scopes with an M48 male thread such as the SVBONY SV41 Mak.
  • Camera side: M42 male; a camera-specific M42 T-ring (Canon, Nikon, Sony and others) is needed.
  • Eyepieces: 1.25″.
  • Send us your scope and camera models and we will confirm the train with you.

Good to Know Before You Order

  • Mechanical adapter only: no glass, no electronic connection.
  • T-ring sold separately.
  • Adds 31.5 mm to your optical path, which counts toward any backfocus figure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it difficult to set up?

No. Thread it onto the scope's M48 male port, then thread a T-ring and camera onto its M42 side, or insert a 1.25″ eyepiece.

Does it fit scopes other than the SV41 Mak?

Yes. SVBONY states it works with any scope that has an M48 male thread.

How much length does it add?

31.5 mm.

Bottom Line

In short: a 70 g aluminium M48-female to M42-male adapter with a 1.25″ interface, made for the SV41 Mak and other M48-threaded scopes.
