Used – Good Condition. A Sky-Watcher 130PDS Newtonian optical tube, supplied with its tube rings, dovetail bar and a focuser extension tube. It carries visible wear from use and a small dent in the tube near the primary mirror cell end, described in full under Condition Notes and shown in the product photos. No finderscope is included.

Condition Notes

Stated plainly so there are no surprises after it arrives:

• Small dent in the tube, near the primary mirror cell end. It is cosmetic in appearance and is pointed out in the product photos so you can see exactly what and where it is before ordering. Because it sits at the mirror-cell end rather than mid-tube, it is the kind of mark worth understanding rather than glancing at.
• No finderscope or finder bracket. The scope will need a finder or red-dot sight added to be practical at the eyepiece. We stock several, and can suggest one that matches the shoe on this tube.
• No eyepieces. This is the tube, rings, dovetail and extension tube only.
• General cosmetic wear on the tube and fittings, consistent with regular use.
• Not tested under the sky by us. We have not star-tested or checked collimation on this tube, so we are making no claim about optical performance beyond what is visible.

About the 130PDS

The 130PDS is Sky-Watcher’s 130 mm Newtonian in the imaging-oriented configuration — the PDS designation marks it out from the plain 130P with a parabolic primary and a dual-speed focuser, the combination that makes the difference between a scope that is pleasant visually and one that will hold critical focus for a camera. It has long been one of the most recommended entry points into deep-sky imaging: short focal length, fast optics, light enough for a modest equatorial mount, and cheap enough that the mount can take the rest of the budget — which is where it belongs.

Tube rings and a dovetail are included here, so the mounting hardware is sorted; what it needs from you is a tracking mount, a finder, and eyepieces or a camera. The extension tube is a useful inclusion for visual work, where the focal plane sits further out than a camera needs.
