Product Overview

The Spider Clamp is a cable-management accessory for the Pegasus Astro Ultimate Powerbox v3. It does two jobs on one part: it secures the power and data cables leaving the powerbox so they cannot be snagged by a slewing mount, and it provides a VESA mounting face so a small-form-factor computer can sit directly on top of the UPBv3 rather than somewhere else on the rig.

It bolts to the UPBv3 with four M3 screws, which are supplied.

Compatibility and Accessory Notes

• Ultimate Powerbox v3 only. The mounting pattern is specific to the UPBv3 (127.3 x 116 x 30 mm). It is not the mounting accessory for the UPBv2 or the Pocket Powerbox range — those have their own brackets and plates, and we stock those separately.
• VESA devices: anything with a 75 x 75 mm or 100 x 100 mm hole pattern will mount. Check your mini PC's published VESA pattern before ordering; some compact units use neither.
• Hardware included: the four M3 screws that fix the clamp to the powerbox are supplied. Screws to fix your PC to the VESA face come with the PC or its own VESA bracket.

Good to Know Before You Order

• This is a mechanical accessory. It carries and retains — it adds no ports, no power, and no electronics of its own to the powerbox.
• Pegasus Astro does not publish a material or weight for this part. We have not listed either rather than quote a figure we cannot source.
• The VESA face carries the computer's weight on the powerbox. That load then sits on whatever the powerbox is mounted to, so it is worth accounting for in your total on-mount payload.
• It is a UPBv3 part. If you are on a UPBv2 or a Pocket Powerbox, get in touch and we will point you to the right bracket for that unit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it difficult to set up?

No. It is four M3 screws into the existing threaded holes on the UPBv3, and the screws are in the box. Fitting a VESA computer to it is four more.

Will it fit my Ultimate Powerbox v2?

No — this clamp is made for the v3. The UPBv2 has its own dovetail brackets and top plate, which we stock.

What VESA sizes does it take?

75 x 75 mm and 100 x 100 mm.

Do I need it if I already route my cables carefully?

It is optional. Its value is that the retention survives a slew you were not watching — careful routing does not always.

Does it come with screws?
