Product Overview

This is the Pegasus Astro top plate that lets a small-form-factor computer mount directly onto an Ultimate Powerbox v2. It is an anodised aluminium plate that fixes to the top face of the UPBv2 and gives an Intel NUC or a similarly sized mini PC somewhere to live on the mount, next to the power and USB it already needs.

Pegasus Astro publishes an installation guide for it.

Compatibility and Accessory Notes

  • Ultimate Powerbox v2 only. This plate is made for the UPBv2 (135 x 107 x 30 mm). The UPBv3 uses the Spider Clamp instead, and the Pocket Powerbox Advance has its own plate — we stock all three.
  • Your PC's own mounting pattern matters. Pegasus Astro does not publish a hole pattern or plate dimensions for this part, so we cannot confirm a specific computer will line up from the published data alone.
  • Pairs with the UPBv2 dovetail brackets, which carry the powerbox itself on a Losmandy or Vixen plate.
  • Tell us which mini PC you have and we will check the fit with you against the vendor's installation guide before you order.

Good to Know Before You Order

  • The plate is the mount, not the fastenings for your PC. Screws that fix your particular computer to the plate depend on that computer.
  • Pegasus Astro publishes no weight, dimensions or hole pattern for this plate. We have left those specification rows out rather than quote figures we cannot source from the manufacturer.
  • The computer's weight ends up on the powerbox. That load then sits on whatever carries the powerbox, so it is worth counting into your on-mount payload.
  • It is a UPBv2 part. On a v3, the Spider Clamp does this job — get in touch and we will point you to the right one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it difficult to set up?

No. The plate fixes to the top of the powerbox and Pegasus Astro publishes an installation guide covering it. Fitting your computer to the plate is the second step and depends on that computer's own mounting points.

Will my Intel NUC fit?

The plate is made for NUC-class computers. Because Pegasus Astro does not publish a hole pattern, send us your exact model and we will check it with you.

Does it work with the UPBv3?

No — the v3 is a different size. The Spider Clamp is the v3 equivalent.

Can I still use the dovetail brackets with this fitted?

Yes. The brackets carry the powerbox from underneath; the plate sits on top.

Does it add any ports or power?

No. It is a mechanical plate — your PC is still powered and connected by its own leads to the powerbox.
