  • Description

Upgrade your JMI Universal Wheeley Bar from the standard 2-3/8″ hard-rubber casters to 5″ fully locking polyurethane wheels. The larger diameter rolls smoothly over cracked concrete, sidewalk seams, rough pavement, and cobblestone-like surfaces that the smaller standard wheels would jar and catch on.

This is the ideal upgrade for observers rolling their rig across a driveway, patio, or walkway with imperfect surfaces — surfaces too rough for the 2-3/8″ wheels but not requiring full all-terrain capability. Raises your setup approximately 6″ — account for this when measuring tip-to-tip distance for your tripod fit.

Product Overview

Includes three (3) fully locking 5″ diameter polyurethane caster wheels to replace the standard 2-3/8″ wheels on your Universal Wheeley Bar. Polyurethane construction gives a smooth, quiet roll on hard surfaces while being firm enough to stay stable under load.

Who Is This Product Best For?

Observers rolling a Wheeley Bar over driveways, patios, or paths with surface imperfections — cracks, seams, gravel dust, rough aggregate. If the standard casters feel like they're fighting the surface on the way out, this upgrade solves it. If you need to go off pavement entirely onto grass or gravel, choose the 10″ Pneumatic Wheel Upgrade instead.

Why Choose This Product?

  • Smooth roll over surface imperfections: 5″ diameter spans cracks and seams that stop smaller casters.
  • Fully locking: Locks securely at your observing position — no creep or drift.
  • Polyurethane construction: Durable, quiet, and floor-friendly.
  • USA-made by JMI.

Specifications

  • Wheel diameter: 5″
  • Quantity: 3 wheels
  • Locking: Yes — all three wheels lock independently
  • Setup height increase: approximately 6″ above ground
  • Compatible with: Medium Universal, HD Shorty, HD Medium, and HD Large Universal Wheeley Bars

Important Notes

  • Because these wheels raise the setup ~6″, lower your tripod 6″ before measuring tip-to-tip if you are sizing a new Wheeley Bar with these wheels
  • For use on grass, dirt, or gravel, choose the 10″ Pneumatic Wheel Upgrade instead — polyurethane wheels are for hard or semi-hard surfaces only
  • This is an upgrade kit for an existing Wheeley Bar — not a standalone product

Frequently Asked Questions

Do these replace the standard casters?
Yes — the 5″ polyurethane wheels replace the stock 2-3/8″ hard-rubber casters on your Wheeley Bar.

Will these work on grass?
No. Polyurethane wheels are for hard and semi-hard surfaces only. For grass, dirt, or gravel, choose the 10″ Pneumatic Wheel Upgrade with tow handle.

Do I need to adjust my tip-to-tip measurement?
Yes. These wheels raise your entire setup approximately 6″. If measuring a new Wheeley Bar purchase, lower your tripod 6″ before measuring tip-to-tip.
