Used – Good Condition. An iOptron SkyGuider Pro #3550 Full Package, fitted with a William Optics Vixen-style saddle clamp in place of the stock camera mounting disk. It carries visible cosmetic wear from normal field use — scuffs and finish marks on the mount body and base — with no functional faults observed. Three items from the original package are not included; they are listed under Condition Notes below.

Upgrades & Enhancements

  • William Optics Vixen-style saddle clamp: replaces the stock camera mounting disk with a proper Vixen dovetail clamp, so a guide scope, small refractor or any Vixen-footed accessory mounts and dismounts without tools. It is a CNC-machined clamp with a wider clamping face than the original disk arrangement.

Condition Notes

Stated plainly so there are no surprises after the box is open:

  • The counterweight stop screw is missing. This is the safety screw at the end of the counterweight shaft that stops the weight sliding off. A replacement should be fitted before the mount is loaded — it is an inexpensive part, and we can help you identify the right one.
  • No mini-USB charging cable. The internal battery charges over a standard mini-USB cable, which is widely available and not iOptron-specific.
  • No padded carry bag. The soft case that ships with the Full Package is not part of this sale.
  • Cosmetic wear. Scuffs and finish marks on the mount body and base, consistent with regular use in the field. Nothing that affects operation.
  • Power Up tested. Powered up and check functions. 

About the SkyGuider Pro

The SkyGuider Pro is iOptron’s compact equatorial tracker for wide-field and astroscape photography — a mount head small enough to sit in your palm at 1 kg (2.2 lb) including its battery, carrying up to 5 kg (11 lb) balanced when the DEC bracket and counterweight are used. That payload is enough for a DSLR with a long telephoto, or a lightweight refractor, which puts it well beyond what a bare ball-head tracker manages.

It runs four tracking rates — sidereal, 1/2 sidereal for combined sky-and-landscape frames, solar and lunar — in both northern and southern hemispheres, with a 144x quick slew in forward and reverse for reframing without disturbing the camera position. An ST-4 port allows autoguiding and a camera trigger port handles the shutter. The removable alt-azimuth base gives you a bubble level, altitude degree markings and a built-in azimuth adjustment post; lift the head off the base and it threads straight onto any photo tripod with a 1/4″ or 3/8″ stud.
