Product Overview

Extra reach for small guide scope tubes in big rings.

A set of six long 1.5″ adjustment screws for Farpoint dovetail rings — three per ring for a pair. When your guide scope tube is much smaller than the ring's inner diameter, the standard screws can run out of reach before they grip; the long set closes the gap so the three-point adjustment can still center, hold, and aim the tube securely. Rings ship standard with 1″ screws.

Who Is This Product Best For?

This product is designed for telescope owners and astrophotographers who use Losmandy-style (D-size) dovetail hardware. It is an ideal choice if you need a precision-machined, reliable mounting solution that integrates with the Losmandy-style (D-size) ecosystem of plates, saddles, and accessories.

Why Choose This Product?

  • Precision machined: CNC-machined and anodized for a tight, secure fit on Losmandy-style (D-size) hardware.
  • Built to last: Aircraft-grade aluminum construction resists flexing under load and holds alignment.
  • Trusted brand: Farpoint Astro is a respected name in telescope mounting hardware, made in the USA.

Recommended Uses

Use this telescope accessory for visual observing and astrophotography setups that rely on the Losmandy-style (D-size) dovetail standard, including mounting optical tubes, guide scopes, cameras, and accessories.

Compatibility and Accessory Notes

Key compatibility and fit details:

  • Includes: Set of 6 screws — three per ring for a pair of rings
  • Length: Long 1.5″
  • Fits: Farpoint dovetail rings — both D and V style (rings and dovetail not included)
  • Construction: Made in the USA
  • Standard equipment: Rings ship with standard 1″ screws — this is the optional long set

Important Limitations

This is a Losmandy-style (D-size) component and is not compatible with V-size (Vixen-style) hardware unless an adapter is used. Verify your telescope's mounting pattern and your mount's saddle width before purchasing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which screw length do I need?
It depends on the gap between your guide scope tube and the ring. Much smaller tubes need these long 1.5″ screws for extra reach; tubes close to the ring's inner diameter take short .5″ screws . The standard 1″ length covers most setups and ships with every ring set.

How many screws come in a set?
Six — three per ring, enough for a full pair of rings with three-point adjustment on each.

Will they fit my rings?
These screws fit Farpoint dovetail rings — both the D-style and V-style (Vixen) ring lines. Rings and dovetail bar are not included.

Our Recommendation

If you run a Losmandy-style (D-size) setup, the Farpoint Dovetail Ring Screws, Long 1.5" Length (Set of 6) is a dependable, precision choice that will integrate cleanly with the rest of your Farpoint dovetail system. Ontario Telescope and Accessories stocks the full Farpoint lineup to help you build a complete, matched mounting solution.
