Product Overview

Already own a D-size bar? These blocks move it to your Meade 10″ SCT.

If you already own a D-size (Losmandy-style) dovetail and want to move it to another scope, all you need is the proper radius blocks for the new tube. These blocks are machined to match the Meade 10″ SCT — they fit that tube only — and work with the dovetail bar you already have. CNC-machined in the USA from black anodized aluminum.

Who Is This Product Best For?

This product is designed for telescope owners and astrophotographers who use Losmandy-style (D-size) dovetail hardware. It is an ideal choice if you need a precision-machined, reliable mounting solution that integrates with the Losmandy-style (D-size) ecosystem of plates, saddles, and accessories.

Why Choose This Product?

  • Precision machined: CNC-machined and anodized for a tight, secure fit on Losmandy-style (D-size) hardware.
  • Built to last: Aircraft-grade aluminum construction resists flexing under load and holds alignment.
  • Trusted brand: Farpoint Astro is a respected name in telescope mounting hardware, made in the USA.

Recommended Uses

Use this telescope dovetail plate for visual observing and astrophotography setups that rely on the Losmandy-style (D-size) dovetail standard, including mounting optical tubes, guide scopes, cameras, and accessories.

Compatibility and Accessory Notes

Key compatibility and fit details:

  • Fits telescope: Meade 10″ SCT only
  • Use with: Your existing D-size (Losmandy-style) dovetail bar
  • Material: Black anodized aluminum
  • Construction: CNC-machined in the USA

Important Limitations

This is a Losmandy-style (D-size) component and is not compatible with V-size (Vixen-style) hardware unless an adapter is used. Verify your telescope's mounting pattern and your mount's saddle width before purchasing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do radius blocks do?
They bridge the gap between a flat dovetail bar and a round optical tube. Each set is machined to the exact curve of a specific tube, so the clamping load spreads across the contact surface instead of concentrating at the bolt holes.

Will these fit my telescope?
These are machined for the Meade 10″ SCT only. If your scope is a different model or size, choose the blocks matched to your tube — or email us and we'll point you to the right set.

Do I need anything else?
Just your existing D-size dovetail bar — the blocks install between the bar and your optical tube. Don't own a bar yet? The complete Meade 10″ kit includes the bar, blocks, and screws.

Our Recommendation

If you run a Losmandy-style (D-size) setup, the Farpoint Dovetail Radius Block - Meade 10 Inch SCT is a dependable, precision choice that will integrate cleanly with the rest of your Farpoint dovetail system. Ontario Telescope and Accessories stocks the full Farpoint lineup to help you build a complete, matched mounting solution.
