Optical Cleaning

First Contact polymer and everything that goes with it, for cleaning telescope optics — mirrors, correctors, lenses and eyepieces. The polymer is painted or sprayed on, left to cure, and peeled off, lifting contamination away without a cloth ever touching the coating.

Red First Contact is the usual choice for astronomy: the tint makes it easy to see what you have covered and what you have missed on a large mirror. If you are unsure which kit suits your telescope, or whether your optics need cleaning at all, ask us first — the most common mistake in this corner of the hobby is cleaning good optics too often.
