Product Overview

This 50mm, 7.5x finderscope covers a 6-degree actual field for locating faint targets ahead of the main tube. It ships as the finder body only — the mounting bracket is sold separately.

Who It's For

This is a good match if you are replacing a 7.5x50 finder body, building a finder from separate parts, or want to run a guiding camera through the GT Mount Adapter path.

Key Features & Design

  • 50mm objective, 7.5x fixed magnification: a 6-degree actual field for star-hopping to faint targets.
  • Etched crosshair pattern: designed not to obscure faint alignment stars.
  • M8 x 0.75 illuminator socket: accepts commercially available reticle illuminators.
  • Swappable eyepiece assembly: exchanges for the GT Mount Adapter to run a 31.7mm guiding camera.

Optical / Mechanical Design

A knurled trim ring locks focus once set on the mini-refractor objective, and the etched crosshair pattern is designed to stay visible against the sky without obscuring faint alignment stars. The M8 x 0.75 threaded socket on the body accepts a commercially available reticle illuminator for dark-sky use. The eyepiece assembly can be swapped for the GT Mount Adapter (sold separately), which accepts either a standard eyepiece or a 31.7mm cylindrical guiding camera.

Recommended Uses

Star-hopping to faint targets, illuminated-reticle work under dark skies, and guiding-camera use through the GT Mount Adapter.

Compatibility and Accessory Notes

Pairs with the Takahashi 7x50 / 7.5x50 Finder Scope Bracket, sold separately. The GT Mount Adapter and reticle illuminator are also sold separately.

Good to Know Before You Order

Bracket, illuminator, and GT Mount Adapter are each sold separately: this listing is the finder body only.

Bottom Line

A 50mm, 7.5x finderscope with a 6-degree actual field, an M8 illuminator socket, and a GT Mount Adapter path to guiding-camera use — pairs with the 7x50 / 7.5x50 bracket.
