About the iOptron AZ Mount Pro
The AZ Mount Pro is iOptron's "level and go" alt-azimuth GoTo mount — level it, power it on, and the integrated 32-channel GPS and orientation sensors work out where and how the mount is pointed, then slew to a bright star for confirmation. No polar alignment, no star-hopping through a setup routine. It carries 33 lb on the primary saddle plus 10 lb on the secondary, so you can run a large SCT and a piggybacked refractor or camera rig at the same time. Zero-backlash stepper drives with built-in encoders, a Go2Nova 8407 hand controller with a 212,000+ object library, an on-board lithium-ion battery good for up to 10 hours, and built-in WiFi for ASCOM, iOptron Commander and SkySafari control round it out.
What makes this package worth a look is the MiniPier extension — it lifts the mount head so a long tube clears the tripod legs at high altitudes, which is exactly where alt-az users normally run out of room. Paired with the 2" tripod and the original hard case, this is a grab-and-go visual and lunar/planetary imaging setup that's genuinely quick to deploy.
