About the Celestron EdgeHD 8"

The EdgeHD 8" is Celestron's aplanatic Schmidt-Cassegrain — an 8" f/10 (2032mm) tube with StarBright XLT coatings that delivers a flat, coma-free field right out to the edge of the frame. That makes it one of the most versatile imaging scopes in its class: sharp pinpoint stars across large sensors, mirror-locking clutch knobs to reduce image shift during long exposures, and Fastar compatibility for fast f/2 wide-field work with a removable secondary. It's equally at home on planets and doubles at native focal length.

This package is a strong buy for anyone stepping into serious astrophotography: the Starguy soft case protects the tube in transit, and the Celestron EdgeHD 8" camera adapter threads directly onto the rear cell to put a camera at the correct backfocus without hunting for parts. For full specifications, see our new Celestron 8" EdgeHD OTA listing.
