  • Description

Used – Very Good Condition. A pre-owned Sky-Watcher EQ-AL55i Pro German equatorial GoTo mount with light cosmetic wear from normal use, supplied with its steel tripod and counterweights — and, unusually, with the SynScan V5 hand controller that Sky-Watcher sells separately.

What's Included

  • Sky-Watcher EQ-AL55i Pro mount head
  • Adjustable-height steel tripod
  • Counterweight bar and counterweight(s)
  • SynScan V5 hand controller

Upgrades & Enhancements

  • SynScan V5 hand controller included. The EQ-AL55i Pro ships from the factory without a hand controller — it is a Wi-Fi-app-controlled mount, and Sky-Watcher lists the V5 keypad as a separate purchase. This one comes with it. Bought new, the mount and the V5 controller together retail at $1,239 CAD on our own shelves ($999 for the mount, $240 for the controller), so this package lands well under new-equivalent pricing.
  • The V5 keypad gives you full standalone GoTo with a 42,000+ object database and a built-in USB-B port for PC control and firmware updates — useful if you would rather not depend on a phone or tablet at the eyepiece, or want a hardware backup to the app.

Condition Notes

  • Light cosmetic wear consistent with normal field use; no functional issues noted.
  • No DC power cord or power supply is included in this sale — plan on supplying your own 12V source.
  • No original packaging included.

About the EQ-AL55i Pro

The EQ-AL55i Pro is Sky-Watcher's redesign of the well-regarded EQM-35, built for observers and astrophotographers who want a genuinely portable equatorial platform without giving up tracking accuracy. It carries a 10 kg (22 lb) payload excluding counterweights, uses a 45mm Vixen-style dovetail saddle, and covers a full 0–90° latitude range via its dual-position counterweight bar. Built-in Wi-Fi SynScan control drives the mount from the free SynScan Pro app on iOS or Android, while an ST-4 autoguiding port, a SNAP camera trigger port and a USB-C connection cover the imaging essentials. The illuminated polar scope is built in, so polar alignment does not require an add-on.

With the hand controller included, this is a complete, ready-to-mount GoTo platform — add a telescope and a 12V supply and you are aligned and tracking. See our new Sky-Watcher EQ-AL55i Pro listing for full specifications.
