  • Description

The JMI Sky Trekker 400 Wheeley Bar is the largest member of the Sky Trekker Dobsonian dolly family — designed for the biggest Dobsonians in the 18-inch and larger class. Roll the rocker box of your large-aperture Dob from storage to your dark-sky site or backyard pad without lifting. On sale — was $899, now $599. Made in California, USA.

Product Overview

The Sky Trekker 400 cradles the base of very large Dobsonian rocker boxes and rolls on heavy-duty locking wheels. It is the correct Dobsonian dolly for Dobs with apertures in the 18-inch range and above, where the rocker box is simply too heavy to carry in and out for each session.

Who Is This Product Best For?

Owners of very large Dobsonians — 18-inch class and above — where the rocker box weight makes manual carry impractical. Also well-suited for large-aperture Dobs at permanent or semi-permanent dark-sky observing sites.

Why Choose This Product?

  • Built for the very largest Dobsonians: Sized for 18-inch class and above where no smaller Sky Trekker fits.
  • Eliminate the rocker-box carry: The most useful upgrade for any large-Dob owner.
  • Currently on sale: Reduced from $899 USD to $599 USD — order while in stock.
  • USA-made JMI welded steel construction.

Important Limitations

  • For Dobsonian-style telescopes only — not for tripod-mounted scopes
  • Currently out of stock — contact us for availability
  • Confirm your Dob's base dimensions match before ordering

Our Recommendation

The Sky Trekker 400 is built for the largest Dobsonians where the rocker box weight makes hand-carrying impractical. If your Dob is in the 14-inch to 16-inch range, check the Sky Trekker 350 instead. The current sale price makes this excellent value for any serious large-Dob owner.
