- Description
The JMI Sky Trekker 300 Wheeley Bar is a purpose-built Dobsonian dolly for larger Dobsonian telescopes in the 10-inch to 12-inch class. Roll your fully assembled Dobsonian from storage to your observing position without lifting or carrying the rocker box. Built by JMI on welded steel with locking wheels. Made in California, USA.
Product Overview
The Sky Trekker 300 cradles the base of a larger Dobsonian rocker box and rolls on locking caster wheels. It is sized for Dobsonians larger than the Sky Trekker 200 accommodates, covering approximately 10-inch to 12-inch Dobs with base dimensions matching the 300's frame. Eliminates the need to carry the heavy rocker box in and out for every session.
Who Is This Product Best For?
Owners of 10-inch to 12-inch class Dobsonians who want easy roll-in, roll-out storage without disassembling the telescope. Particularly useful for truss-tube Dobs where the rocker box is heavy and awkward to carry.
Why Choose This Product?
- Built for larger Dobs: Wider frame and greater capacity than the Sky Trekker 200.
- Eliminate heavy lifting: Keep the rocker box on the dolly at all times.
- Locking wheels: Stable at your observing position.
- USA-made JMI steel construction.
Compatibility and Accessory Notes
For Dobsonian telescopes in approximately the 10–12 inch class. Confirm your Dob's base dimensions against Sky Trekker 300 specifications before ordering. For even larger Dobs (14-inch and above), see the Sky Trekker 350 or 400.
Important Limitations
- For Dobsonian-style telescopes only — not for tripod-mounted scopes
- Confirm base dimensions match your specific Dob before ordering
- Designed for hard flat surfaces; use with care on uneven terrain
Our Recommendation
The Sky Trekker 300 is the right dolly for owners of 10-inch to 12-inch class Dobsonians. Confirm your rocker box base dimensions fit the frame before ordering. For smaller Dobs, use the Sky Trekker 200. For very large Dobs, check the Sky Trekker 350 and 400.
