    Perfect eyepiece hunter

You have been hunting for the perfect eyepiece? Well, you’ve found it—congratulations! I have a collection of eyepieces, including some of the most famous brands like Televue, Explore Scientific, and Baader, but in my opinion, this is my best one yet and far from the most expensive. What is so special about it? For starters, it has a 100-degree field of view, which is the most important aspect for immersion, and that is what this hobby is all about: the experience. Additionally, it provides a sharp image—sharper at the edges than my Panoptic 35mm, and that’s a fantastic eyepiece that I use with my 8SE SCT. When comparing it to the best brands, its image is just as bright despite its nine heavy glass elements. The weight might be its biggest weakness. I think that if it were as light as a Plossl, we would all be using XWA eyepieces. I almost forgot to mention: this eyepiece is very forgiving with eye position. The image stays sharp, which is especially necessary as you look around for details in sight. Finally, its rubber eyeguard is a pleasant surprise. It’s very soft and comfortable. It fits perfectly on this eyepiece and is easy to fold down. At 15mm of eye relief, it seems not enough until you try it—I can see the field stop without touching the lens with my eyelashes. The image stays sharp even at 30mm away from the lens. Not being able to see the field stop is not as big of a deal as it is with 70-degree eyepieces. The field stop is so far out that it matters much less. I wish Antares made this eyepiece in other focal lengths like other companies do.
