Those small pixels are the point: at the long effective focal lengths planetary imaging uses, 2.2 µm samples fine detail that larger pixels average away.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt works the way all planetary imaging does — capture a long video run, then stack the sharpest frames to get underneath the atmosphere. Frame rates run from 6.23 to 52.37 fps at the lowest resolution and 0.71 to 5.99 fps at full 5 MP, so the resolution you choose is a direct trade against how many frames you gather per minute.
